Shaikha Alothman

Shaikha is a Public Health professional and a leading innovator in home-care, integrating technology, policy recommendations, and impactful community support for family caregivers across the US and MENA regions.
An alum of the MIT I-Corps program for social innovation, she has been recognized as an Innovator Under 35 by MIT Technology Review Arabia, as well as by Weill Cornell Medicine, MIT Hacking Medicine, the US Department of State, and others.
As part of her community service role, she serves on the Harvard Radcliffe Institute program for Neurotech Justice, is a “Womentor” for female alumni of her alma mater Cardiff University, and has advised students at King Saud University, Harvard Medical School, and MIT Hacking Medicine on healthcare technology.
She is also co-founder of the adolescent Leadership Development Program (aLDP), an award-winning educational initiative that equips adolescents in the Arab Gulf with leadership skills for the economy of tomorrow, supported by researchers and fellows from Harvard and MIT.
In addition to social entrepreneurship, her personal interests include exploring the shores of the Arab Gulf at low tide and studying the contemporary maritime history of the Arab dhow-ship trade.
