Leena Khalil

Partner, Key Capital

Leena Khalil’s career spans various sectors, including investment banking, business process outsourcing, and e-commerce. She currently serves as a Partner at Key Capital.

A graduate of Cambridge University with a BA in Electrical Engineering, Leena, a UK citizen, moved to the region in 2009 and now divides her time between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. She is a prominent figure in the GCC’s entrepreneurial space. In 2011, she co-founded Mumzworld.com, a leading platform dedicated to making parenting easier across the region. Following its significant growth, Mumzworld.com was fully
acquired by the Saudi healthcare giant Tamer Group. Leena stepped down as CEO in 2024.

Before her role at Mumzworld, Leena worked in investment banking in London, where she successfully launched equity transactions for TMT clients across multiple geographies. Her expertise in navigating complex financial landscapes laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors. She later transitioned to business process outsourcing, focusing on optimizing local government processes and enhancing
customer service through the integration of technology into daily life.

Leena’s dedication has earned her significant recognition. She has been named one of the top female entrepreneurs by Forbes Middle East for four consecutive years, including the most recent Forbes 2023 list. Additionally, she was recognized as one of the most powerful retail leaders by Retail ME in 2023.

Leena Khalil is deeply committed to the growth and development of the regional ecosystem. She serves on the board of APIC, a publicly listed company focused on driving investments into Palestine. APIC's investments span manufacturing, trade, distribution, and service sectors, with a presence across the MENA region. Leena is also a member of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) Board of Advisors, a
mentor at the Win Fellowship, and a judge for Eureka!, the Gulf region edition of Asia's Largest Business Model Competition. She actively seeks to create synergies across sectors through collaboration with regulators and financial institutions, supporting business leaders and entrepreneurs.
